New York in the 1970s was a city in crisis with run down housing stock, plentiful drugs and rampant organised crime. But out of these dark days came a burgeoning artistic life that was to strongly influence the decades that followed in the fields of fashion, art and music: exemplified by the 16 million+ selling album, Parallel Lines.
This is the story of that album and the time, the passion and the raw talent that produced it. Interviewees include band members Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, Clem Burke, Nigel Harrison, Jimmy Destri and Frank Infante, album Producer Mike Chapman and Mayor Ed Koch.
