Eagle Rock Films Is the in house production division of Universal Music subsidiary Eagle Rock Entertainment.  ERF produces music documentaries and concert films.  Recent documentary productions include Ronnie Wood: Somebody Up There Likes Me, Ella Fitzgerald: Just one of those Things, and John and Yoko: Above Us Only Sky.  Recent co-productions include Miles Davis: Birth of The Cool (with Firelight Media), Mark Ronson: From the Heart (with Livewire), Tears for Fears: Songs From the Big Chair (1515 Productions).  Current co-productions include Icon: Music Through the Lens with Cheese Productions and Phil Lynott: Songs For While I’m Away with Marcie films and Screen Ireland.  ERF have recently remastered the classic INXS concert film Live Baby Live and shot live concerts with Def Leppard and Slash.

Many of our films have theatrical releases internationally before being broadcast across the world.  Broadcast partners include BBC Music, Sky, Channel 4, Arte, Showtime, Netflix, YouTube Originals, American Masters Pictures, Filmrise and NHK.

ERF work with directors from across the world including Mike Figgis, Stanley Nelson, Leslie Woodhead, Emer Reynolds, Sophie Huber, Paul Dugdale and Dick Carruthers.


Peter Worsley. MD.

As well as heading up ERF Peter is also MD Digital, Theatrical and Production at Eagle Rock Entertainment and was previously Head of Factual distribution at Alliance Atlantis. Before that he was in Rights Consultancy with Altitude Rights Consultancy and with Europe Images International in Paris.


Melissa Morton-Hicks. Production Manager.

Kyle Smart. Editor.

Kyle joined ERF in 2007 as a production assistant and has since taken on a role as in-house editor, working with both offline and online workflows including grading and graphics work. He has built and maintained the two Avid suites at ERP. Credits include multiple entries in the Montreux Jazz Festival concert series, several original content pieces for The Rolling Stones, documentary edits for VH1 and several multi-camera music promos. He is also comfortable shooting on Canon C300, XF305 and DSLR.


Martin Smith. Producer/Director.

Martin, who works frequently with ERF, is a specialist in music television programming and has a background in the music industry, having worked for both record companies and music publishers. He helped to establish the video royalty system for music publishers whilst Manager of Video at MCPS. Martin was Head of Business Affairs and subsequently Head of Production and Programming at EMI’s Picture Music International before becoming a freelance Producer and Director.

Matthew Longfellow. Director/Editor.

Matthew is a regular collaborator with ERF and started his career as a film editor in television commercials and music videos before moving into directing. He never lost his love of editing and still continues to cut the majority of his own work as well as many productions for other directors. He is equally at home working offline and online with Avid or Final Cut Pro and has his own HD offline / online FCP suite for editing, effects, graphics, grading and finishing. As a freelance director and editor he has worked across many genres including television documentaries, live multi camera concerts, music videos, commercials and corporate films.
